He’s a cheeky little dog, full of character, he makes us smile… I’m very grateful of Rupert!

Day 17 – Grateful Photo a Day

Driving home after a long busy day at work, I was grateful that the radio were playing some good music! Sometimes there is nothing better than driving along whilst listening to some great tunes, and yes I admit I was singing along loudly and rather badly… poor Rupert!

Day 16 – Grateful Photo a Day

There seems to be a common theme running through most of my posts… the weather! I’m always talking about it. I suppose it is a big factor on what happens each day, especially at this time of the year when we get the extremes; when it rains, it really rains and when the sun shines, like today, it’s mega hot! (Plus I am a Pom so I guess I am allowed to mention it now and then
)
Whilst working at the studio I am usually okay on these mega hot days as I have the trusty air con working. However this afternoon, it decided to drip rather a lot of water everywhere. Not knowing why I decided it was probably best to switch it off, just in case. Luckily I had a fan to hand to keep me going for the rest of the afternoon, it’s cooling breeze through the warm humid air was very gratefully received!

Day 15 – Grateful Photo a Day

Hurray the sun has at last come out to play! It was a busy Monday at work today so on days like these it’s good to be able to take Rupert for a little walk down our lane. There are a couple of small hills so it’s just a perfect walk for short legs – both his and mine! I love our lane; I always see different things, sometimes meet the resident family of kangaroos, and most often than not I bump into one of the neighbours. Quite a few of them have some kind of vegetable or fruit growing, and one of them even has chickens who roam around freely – Rupert always gives them a curious look and then takes a very wide berth! It’s just nice to get out, take a break and see what’s going on – always grateful of our little lane!

Day 14 – Grateful Photo a Day

Yay 2 weeks on my project, so to celebrate I have posted 2 photos (partly because I can’t choose one!). Today I had a lovely time at the Buderim Ginger Factory’s Flower & Food Show. As the name suggested I learnt lots about all kinds of plants, and of course ate, drank and bought lots of goodies made with ginger – yummy, my kind of show!
We had a guided walk around the Factory’s beautiful tropical gardens, which were looking very green and lush after all the wet weather, and came away with lots of gardening tips. Grateful for these, I left feeling very inspired and planning how I could put some of these into practice!

Day 13 – Grateful Photo a Day

Some days I just feel like having a little bit of chocolate (even if I am trying to be healthy!), and today was one of those days! So I was immensely grateful when my boyfriend drove to our local service station this evening especially to buy me a bar – how lucky am I?! Unfortunately I only thought about taking my grateful photo after I had eaten it all, so all I had left to photograph was the empty wrapper and crumbs, oops!

Day 12 – Grateful Photo a Day

I have to say not much happened today, especially in comparison to all the activities of yesterday! But it was Friday so I am always happy for Fridays! It seems the rain is to be with us for a little while longer, but as the weatherman positively pointed out at least it’s ‘warm rain’ that we are having! This is true, it is still very warm and very humid – apparently 88% here on the Sunshine Coast, 98% in Brisbane – now that’s humid! So after a lovely dinner with friends, it was just nice to watch a pleasant movie; so grateful to be able to relax in the warm and dry, and not use the brain cogs for a while (although some may say this happens quite frequently!)

Day 11 – Grateful Photo a Day!

Today was a really great day!
Two things in particular made this happen; firstly it was Australia Day so in the true Aussie spirit we celebrated by having a barbq with friends – a lot of fun, drinks, games and laughs were had all around!
Secondly, a very special book was published today, Jack’s Radio Mission. A truly amazing achievement, it was written by my very dear friend Sarah Boland, who through her own experiences with radiotherapy, decided to write a story that might help and reaasure children finding themselves having similar treatment. All profits will go towards Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research – for more information or to order a copy please go to Sarah’s blog at www.sazbol.co.uk or visit the facebook page.
I’m so very grateful of sharing wonderful times with friends.

Day 10 – Grateful Photo a Day

Another wet, wet, wet day on the Coast! I was lucky I had bought a snazzy pair of wellies (gum boots, I think they call them here in Oz?) a couple of months ago, just in case. So I tested them out… perfect, no wet feet today plus it would be very hard to lose me in them! During our recent heatwave I had been wandering what I must have been thinking buying them, today I was grateful I had!

Day 9 – Grateful Photo a Day

The weather has certainly dominated today! With torrential rain, flash flooding and now strong winds we’ve been having some wild weather here on the Sunshine Coast. I was working in Caloundra today and almost thought I might have to stay overnight. Luckily I managed to wait for a bit of a lull in the downpours and I made it back home, safe and sound, high and dry, for which I was very, very grateful – as it was a hairy journey home! This Magpie Lark was obviously not too impressed either and sat for quite a while undercover on the washing line. Maybe he was waiting for the lull too so he could fly back home?
